DIY Bathtub Paint
I love Pinterest just as much as the next person. I have found some great recipes, craft ideas, and fun activities for the kids. My boys are huge fans of bath time, so when I saw this I just had to try it. My youngest helped me make the paint. I cut the recipe in half from most of the recipes that I found only adding 1Tbsp. cornstarch and a little more than 1/8 c. baby shampoo. I was glad I did because there was just enough room left in my standard size muffin cups to stir and add food coloring. Had I done the full recipe I would have had a soapy mess on my hands (and kitchen table, 3-year-old and anything else in his path).
Once the paints were ready, and the bath was too, I let my boys go to town. They LOVED it, and were also clean as a whistle when they came out of the tub. I also gave them wash clothe’s to clean up the tub and walls with before they got out (child labor maybe, but my tub was crystal clean).
This would be a great way to keep a child who is not a bath time fan in the tub and entertained!
How to make DIY Bathtub Paint:
In a muffin pan, add 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to each cup of the tin. Add ¼ cup baby shampoo and 4-5 drops of food coloring to each mixture to make your favorite paint colors! Mix and match with each cup with different colors.
Stir and mix together the paint until color is smooth and an even color throughout. Once done add about 2 tablespoons of water and stir!
Then let your kids enjoy painting in the bathtub, the best part is its a lot of fun and they can even paint themselves if they want because it washes right off!!
