Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Cruise LineAs moms, we love creating unforgettable memories with our families. When those memories come courtesy of an amazing deal, it just makes it all the more worthwhile! Our friends at Norwegian Cruise Line are offering families both with their “Kids Sail Free” promotion and we just couldn’t wait to tell you about it.

Kids sail free this fall on Norwegian Cruise Line! That means when you book a select Fall 2012 cruise between now and July 7th, kids under 18 sailing as a third or fourth guest in the stateroom sail free. Imagine your family on board a Norwegian Cruise Line ship this Fall, sailing to destinations such as The Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii and more! Like all good things, this promotion won’t last forever. In fact, you have to book your cruise before July 7th in order to take advantage of this incredible offer.

Disclosure: I was entered for a chance to win a Norwegian Cruise Line vacation exchange for this post.  No monetary exchange took place.”

Travel Dunne Right: Cruises

Travel Dunne Right: Cruises

Ever think about taking a cruise?

Cruising is a great all-inclusive vacation that enables you to visit many places without many of the hassles such as flights, hotels, packing and repacking, etc…  Cruise ships also have something for everyone regardless of age or activity level!

Do you have to have a passport as a US citizen? A passport is always strongly recommended. It is REQUIRED to have a passport for an open-loop cruise-a voyage that begins in one port and end in another port and for international travel. A passport is highly recommended for a closed-loop cruise-a voyage that begins and ends at the same US port.

What is a cruise only fare? A lot of cruises are advertised as cruise only. This means taxes and government fees are NOT included. Gratuities are also NOT included. You will need to get your own transportation to the cruise port too.  All of this can add up to hundreds of extra dollars.

What is NOT included in the cruise fare? Not included in your cruise fare are alcoholic and soft drinks, casino gambling, specialty restaurants, shore excursions, spa and beauty treatments, specialty workout classes, photographs, medical services, Bingo, and souvenirs.

What’s the general age range for cruisers? Different cruise lines appeal to different age groups. Average passenger age ranges are as follows: Carnival:  35–55 Celebrity: 30–55 Disney Cruise Line: 20s and up Holland America: 40s to 60s Norwegian: 50s Princess: Age 50+ Royal Caribbean: 30s to 50s

Couple of cruising tips

• When booking a cruise, do not only look at the prices. Let the travel agent help you choose a cruise ship that will be a perfect fit for you-price, destination, & atmosphere! You don’t want to be stuck with a lower price room above a nightclub where you will have trouble sleeping especially if you have a family.

• One way to save money on a cruise is to choose a repositioning cruise.  Remember, this cruise is to move ships from one region to another and usually does not have many ports.

• When going a cruise, think about going to the embarkment city a day early so you do not have to worry about weather and flight delays. The hotel cost will be worth the peace of mind you get!

• Leave copies of your passport, airline tickets, traveler’s cheques and credit cards with a family member or a friend back on the mainland.

• When you receive your cruise documents in the mail, take the time to go over them in detail and verify that all the information is correct.

• If you are prone to motion seasickness, the best cabin location for you is on a lower deck in the middle of the ship (midway between the bow and the stern). Movement made by a ship will be less noticeable in that area.

• Pack a small flashlight to find your way around in the dark or in an emergency
Happy Cruising!!
